The Team That Keeps HBS Running!

For this blog post we want to introduce our hard working service team. Not only does HBS increase mobility options in Hoboken, but it also provides jobs.

This is the team that works around the clock to keep HBS running. Our diverse team moves bikes to and from different stations throughout the day, repairs and maintains the bikes and the stations, and provides bikes for events. We currently employ five service members (not including our operations manager) and are in the process of expanding.

Interested in joining the team? We’re looking for more responsible and committed people to join us. Email us your resume at [email protected].

If you see our crew out there, give them a high five!

How long have you been working for HBS? What do you do?
Working for Hudson Bike Share has been a pleasant experience! I’ve had the pleasure of being with them for two years. The job consists of being able to have bikes ready for the customers to have easy access to commute around.

What do you like about the job?
What is wonderful about this job is that I’m able to communicate with customers all day long. The job never gets boring. Also being able to have a team like Hudson Bike Share is definitely a plus. I’m a people’s person so helping out customers is what I always try to do.

What do you like about bikes?
The amazing part about a bike is how fun it can be to get around.

Do you ever use the Hudson Bike Share bikes or your own bike to get around? Where do you go?
I love using the Hudson bikes! I actually recommend friends and family members to use it whenever they are around Hoboken. Riding a bike with the Hudson view is beautiful!

Do you see many people in your community using bikes? Why do you think more and more people are deciding to use a bike to get around?
It’s impressive to see everyday how many people in Hoboken use the Hudson Bikes. I don’t blame them – it’s easy, convenient, and definitely saves them money. For example with the monthly and yearly promotions HBS offers!

How long have you been working for Hudson Bike Share? What do you do?
I’ve been working for HBS for one year. I’m a bike mechanic, and I also do rebalancing in the evening.

What do you like about the job?
I like the freedom to be able to work at my own pace. I currently work the evening shift, but am I’m more of a morning person myself, so I’d like to change that.

What do you like about bikes?
I’m new to the bike scene. When I was younger I owned a bike and I fixed it, but since working with Hudson Bike Share I’ve been riding bikes for a whole year and enjoy it.

Do you ever use the Hudson Bike Share bikes or your own bike to get around? Where do you go?
I use HBS bikes to go to and from our warehouse.

Do you see many people in your community using bikes? Why do you think more and more people are deciding to use a bike to get around?
I live in Queens. I don’t see as many people using them like they do in Hoboken.

How long have you been working for HBS? What do you do?
I’ve been working at HBS for three months as an outside worker during the morning shift. Our job is to drive around Hoboken checking all the stations, making sure they all have the right amount of bikes. We also do maintenance work, such as cleaning them up and making sure they are ready to be ridden. We also take care of public advertisement posters, checking the battery once a week and changing them when it needed to be changed. Our main focus is on fixing bikes and looking for missing bikes. We also pick up bikes left at invalid return locations.

What do you like about the job?
What I like most about the job is the great schedule. I have the amazing team! I work with the satisfaction of knowing we are giving a great service to the community of Hoboken. Soon we will have various new locations too.

What do you like about bikes?
What I like about bikes is the fact that they improve people’s health and that they are also environmental friendly. They are also a faster and an affordable way of transportation.

Do you ever use the Hudson Bike Share bikes or your own bike to get around? Where do you go?
I use them everyday to get to work because it is way easier than bringing my car and having to find parking spot everyday.

Do you see many people in your community using bikes? Why do you think more and more people are deciding to use a bike to get around?
It is incredible how everyday more people are joining the bike movement, especially in Hoboken. It is always packed and full of traffic. As long as we keep giving a good service and improving the way we work, more people will be joining us.

How long have you been working for HBS? What do you do?
I’ve worked for Hudson Bike Share for a month. I load the van with bikes then drop them off and pick-up other bikes from different stations. I troubleshoot board computers, and advise mechanics on any mechanical problems. I can also fix any damages on the spot at any station.

What do you like about the job?
I like being out in the community helping people that need and want to use our bikes and making sure they have a safe ride.

What do you like about bikes?
I like bikes because it’s quicker to use them to commute to wherever I have to go, and at the same time I’m getting exercise and staying fit.

Do you ever use the Hudson Bike Share bikes or your own bike to get around? Where do you go?
I use my own personal bike in Jersey City and I use HBS in Hoboken to travel to and from the warehouse.

Do you see many people in your community using bikes? Why do you think more and more people are deciding to use a bike to get around?
I do see many people riding bikes. I think they are using bikes because it’s more convenient and easier to avoid traffic jams.
