Hudson Bike Share Winter Weather Advisory

HBS bike in snow
Weather conditions may temporarily affect the performance of Hudson Bike Share. HBS wants all riders to be safe and prepared for winter weather scenarios. Always remember to wear a helmet and reflective gear when possible.
Riders should always dress appropriately for the weather. Temperatures consistently below 30 degrees may present additional challenges with battery life on bicycles. Freezing temperatures have an unfortunate effect on battery life.
If there is less than one inch of snow, we advise riders to ride with caution, watch for ice and other slick spots. Consider alternate transportation if you’re not confident riding in snow or icy conditions.
If there is between one and five inches of snow, we advise using alternative transportation until you are confident that roads have been cleared and are ready for riding. The Hudson Bike Share grounds crew will require time to clear stations and ensure bicycles are available for rent.
In the event of six or more inches of snow, Hudson Bike Share strongly advises using an alternative form of transportation. In the event of a snowstorm receiving over six inches of snow, the Hudson Bike Share team requires ample time to clear stations of snow and ensure bicycles are available for rent. Our team will work hard to clear snow from stations, however, this process can take several days. Please allow Hudson County time to clear bike lanes of snow and ice.
